Hearing set for three accused in Ryan Lane’s death

A hearing date has been set for three people charged with the murder of Calgary father Ryan Lane.

Lane went missing in February 2012, and his remains were found in a rural area near Beiseker late last year.

Sheena Cuthill, her husband Timothy Rempel and his brother Will Rempel will all face a two-week preliminary hearing starting May 20, 2014.

The Calgary Herald reports that both Cuthill and Timothy Rempel were denied bail last month.

Police believe Lane’s death was motivated by a custody battle between Lane and Cuthill, who had a daughter together.
