CPS launch new drunk driving campaign

City police want to remind Calgarians of the dangers of drinking and driving and are using a tragic example to drive the point home in a new campaign.
In 2008, WHL goaltender Mike Maniago was tragically killed by a drunk driver in the city’s SE.
Mike’s godfather, a constable with Calgary Police Service, along with Mike’s father, share their painful story in a YouTube video entitled ‘Had Enough’.
In order to ensure the story is shared, the CPS are giving away four ride-alongs and you can enter to win on their Facebook page or through Twitter @Calgarypolice.
Sgt. Dominic Barbario tells 660News – they felt social media would be a useful tool.
“We wanted to reach out to as many people as possible and we realized the importance and the effectiveness of social media, Twitter and, Facebook,” he says.
