Food tamperer appealing sentence

A woman convicted of food tampering at a Calgary Co-op store is appealing her conviction.
Tatyana Granada’s lawyer says her case was tainted by unneeded expert evidence.
Surveillance footage showed Granada holding cheese in one hand and a smaller item in her other hand; when it was returned to the shelf the smaller item appeared to be gone.
The Calgary Sun reports, Dr. Reed Ferber, an expert in biomechanics and human movement, used the evidence to argue Grenada had sabotaged the food.
Grenada is currently serving a three year sentence.
