Mosquito population invading Calgary

The mosquito invasion has been delayed this year, but Calgarians are starting to feel a little itchy.
Because the insects thrive in wet and warm conditions, cool weather kept the bugs from appearing in late May and early June.
Head of Integrated Pest Management James Borrow tells The Calgary Herald, we are just starting to see eggs hatch and populations swarm.
The city is monitoring traps to try and keep numbers low, but can’t make any guarantees.
Borrow recommends people wear bug spray, pants and long sleeves at dusk and dawn to make sure they keep the pests at bay.
