Sex worker convicted of murder

A Calgary sex worker faces a life in prison after being convicted of second degree murder in the death of a client.

Crystal Crowchild, 28, was convicted Monday of fatally stabbing a 64-year-old man after he paid for her services and then demanded more sex.

The prosecutor said Crowchild confessed to the crime in recorded phone calls to police, family and friends.

Crowchild pleaded not guilty, arguing she acted in self defense.

She will be officially sentenced Wednesday.
