Environment Canada issues rainfall warnings for foothills

Our soaking wet spring shows no signs of letting up.
Environment Canada has posted rainfall warnings for the foothills west and northwest of us and that could expand to include Calgary later this week.
Under the warning, areas to the north including Airdrie, west to Canmore and up to Rocky Mountain House, might get around 150 millimetres; Calgary could get
100 millimetres, which could cause some flash flooding and be reason for concern.
Meteorologist David Spence says the melting snow is also filling the rivers, add some heavy rain on top of that and there’s certainly a flooding threat to come out of this system by Thursday.
Environment Canada says they’re still watching development of the storm system and other areas could be placed under the rainfall warning.
June is Calgary’s wettest month of the year.
