A second black bear has been killed in a national park west of Calgary.
The adult male bear was struck by a vehicle on the TransCanada Highway in Yoho National Park Monday evening.
Parks Canada officials say the loss is saddening.
Spokesperson Omar McDadi tells The Calgary Sun it’s not clear what the animal was doing on the roadway, but it’s the time of year when it’s more likely to occur.
Another bear was struck and killed by a CP Rail train east of Banff townsite last Thursday.
