Small businesses will be hit hard by flooding

The President of the Calgary Chamber of Commerce is worried that many small businesses will not be able to recover from devastating flooding.

Adam Legge says the failure rate of small business after disasters is usually high.

Legge tells The Calgary Herald it’s a triple whammy: the businesses lose revenue when they are closed, and have to shell out money both for lost inventory and to repair the premises.

The chamber has issued a request to the Federal and Provincial Governments to provide support to businesses affected by flooding.
