Crews working to fully restore power to downtown

Hard working construction crews continue to make progress on re-building of our city.
Enmax crews have restored power to the areas of Cliff Bungalow, Victoria Park and Mission, however, Downtown Core East is still seeing outages and the East Village could take weeks.
Now that the evacuation proximity has shrunk following the CP Rail partial bridge collapse in the SE, staff are back into the Bonnybrook Water Treatment Plant.
All traffic signals are up and running in the city however, a few of the lights are running on generators, which the Mayor says may not be very efficient but, at least the lights are running.
For transit users, officials are hoping to have the south C-Train line fully functional for Stampede by late next week.
Nenshi says there will be a huge planned city cleanup this Friday and Saturday, and Sunday involving the pre-registered volunteers from McMahon Stadium in some of the hardest hit areas like Bowness, Mission and Elbow Park.
He says if you’d like to volunteer, just go to one of the other flooded areas and lend a hand.
