Hotels see drop in reservations post-flood

Only a few more days to the 101st edition of the Calgary Stampede, and visitors aren’t flocking to our city like they did last year.
After the flood, the General Manager of Calgary’s Marriott Hotel says some visitors may have changed their plans or thought twice before heading here.
Joseph Clohessy tells the Calgary Sun once the state of local emergency is lifted, the dynamic of the city will change and a different message will be sent to the world.
But, hotels like the Hyatt Regency and the Palliser have dropped their rates nearly $200 from what a normal room usually costs during Stampede.
Hotels are also offering incentives to visitors who want to see the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth.
