The city has scrapped a new taxi pickup system near the Stampede that was aimed at reducing traffic congestion.
A City of Calgary spokesperson says drivers just weren’t following the new rules.
The Calgary Herald reports, for the rest of the celebrations, taxis will be found at three locations: the westbound curb lane of 14th Avenue Southeast, nearby Cowboys Night Club at 12th Ave and 3rd Street Southeast, and outside the Erlton gates.
Jeff Garland of Associated Taxi says the new rules didn’t make much sense anyway, and that taxis should be available right where people are exiting the grounds.
