Mountain climber falls near Canmore

A man in his 30’s is lucky to be alive after falling about 15 metres near Canmore.
The accident happened in a secluded area in the Spray Lakes and Grassi Lakes recreation area, around 9 a.m. on Sunday.
It took a helicopter more than two hours to reach him and bring him to paramedics.
EMS spokesman Adam Loria says paramedics were waiting in a nearby parking lot, where they treated the patient.
“A short time later, STARS Air Ambulance made a landing in the parking lot, and subsequently transported this person to Foothills Hospital in Calgary in serious but stable condition,” said Loria.
Loria adds fellow climbers watched the man fall, and someone called 911.
