During the recent flooding, plenty of debris was washed into area rivers and is now surfacing in the Ghost Lake Reservoir, west of Calgary.
Cottage owners, Trans-Alta Utilities and volunteers with recreational boats pitched in to move a boom of logs and clean up debris on Saturday.
However, the process works if multiple crafts are tied onto the same boom and organizer Don Stengler tells 660News, they need volunteers who have access to a boom boat or a little tugboat capable of towing floating logs and debris of all kinds.
The second cleanup session will happen this Saturday, July 27th.
Ghost Lake Reservoir is just half an hour west of the city, next to Highway 1A, also known as Crowchild Trail.
