Parks Day in Kananaskis Country

You can see for yourself how well Kananaskis Country is recovering from last month’s floods.
It’s Parks Day in Kananaskis and Bow Valley Provincial Park is hosting a family celebration at the corner of Highway 1X and The TransCanada.
Spokesperson Glenn Naylor tells 660News some impressive items will be on display.
“Lots of things are open now. All the businesses along highway 40 and in Kananaskis are up and running as per normal. Campgrounds are just about all back open; trails are just about all open again. Kananaskis Country is up and running and looking good,” Alberta Park’s Glenn Naylor tells 660news, and explains a lot of impressive items will be on display, “All our wildlife management equipment that we use for bears, everything will be on display. All our rescue equipment, helicopters will be there. You can work with the park trail crew, hands on stuff.”
Naylor says that Bow Valley Provincial Park was not affected by flooding.
The celebration begins with a pancake breakfast at 9 a.m. Sunday morning, and activities including horse and wagon rides, outdoor games, and a BBQ lunch with prizes will go until 3 O’clock.
