Business as usual.
That’s what the Petroleum Services Association of Canada is calling a three per cent increase in drilling activity in 2013.
The projection comes from the latest update to the Canadian Drilling Activity Forecast, expecting another 15 wells this year.
PSAC President and CEO Marc Salkeld said weather has played a minor factor.
“We were a little bit more confident in our April release, but with the wet weather, there was a setback in total numbers, but coming out the other side as things dry up, we still have a very positive outlook for the balance of the year,” he said.
Salkeld added he’s pleased there is a steady improvement in the industry, without any major movement by boom or bust.
He said though there is still frustration over low gas prices and getting our oil and gas to eastern Canada, south of the border and in foreign markets.
