Taber corn hits stands

Come this weekend, you will be able to get Taber corn in Calgary and area.
The famous corn on the cob hit stands Monday in many communities to the south.
David Jensen, owner of Jensen’s Taber Corn says consumers should be checking to make sure it is the real thing.
“Ask for the certificate, the certificate tells you who the grower is and if it’s from our farm, it is actually signed by myself and has my phone number on it; it is the only way we can protect the consumer, that they ask for a certificate as to where it’s from,” says Jensen.
Jensen says the corn on the stands right now wasn’t affected by a major hail storm that went through during the growing season, however Jensen adds the crops which were affected, have rebounded quite nicely and we’ll be seeing corn from those fields shortly.
