Golf courses in Kananaskis open for the long weekend

If you’re looking to hit the green in Kananaskis Country this weekend a number of golf courses are open for play.

Greg Andrew, VP of the Stewart Creek Golf & Country club says courses hit by last month’s flooding are bouncing back busier than ever.

Andrew tells 660News that the flooding shut down six of their holes on the back nine.

“We’ve had photos in the clubhouse, showing the process of us getting all of that material off, putting in new sod and getting sand back into the bunkers, as well as on the golf course and people are coming saying they can’t believe staff got it back,” he says.

All 18 holes are open for play at the Canmore Golf and Curling Club, Silvertip Resort and Stewart Creek Golf and Country.

Both the Stanley Thompson and Tunnel Nine courses at the Fairmont Banff Springs are open as well including the practice range.
