Police investigating after downtown stabbing

A man is in hospital recovering after being stabbed overnight downtown.
Duty Inspector Darryl Hess tells 660News, just after 3 a.m. Wednesday, they got a call from a person claiming they saw a man lying in a pool of blood on 7th Avenue and 9th Street Southwest.
“There’s some evidence to support that this victim may have been assaulted with a weapon. And what kind of weapon, we’re not exactly sure right now,” he says.
Police followed a blood trail to what they believe is the scene of the crime on 8th Avenue and 9th Street Southwest.
Hess says the man is in hospital in non life threatening condition and investigators plan to speak to him a little later this morning.
