Study agrees Keystone has minimal environmental impact

A new study shows the proposed Keystone XL Pipeline will have no material impact on American greenhouse gas emissions.

The report by IHS Cera inc., backs earlier findings by the U.S. State Department.

According to The Calgary Sun, the research shows use of alternate transportation routes would lead to higher or unchanged oil sands production growth.

John Hoeven, a North Dakota senator in favour of the pipeline, is lauding the conclusions.

He said the study confirms Keystone will have no significant impact on the environment.
