Drunk driving numbers down slightly during Stampede

The number of drunk drivers dropped just a bit during the 2013 Calgary Stampede, according to police reports.
Statistics gathered from July 5-14, show police laid 43 impaired driving charges, 38 charges of driving with a blood-alcohol level over .08, and nine charges of refusing to provide a breath sample.
The total of 90 charges during the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth was slightly lower when compared to 96 total charges in 2012.
Sgt. Mike Ter Kuile tells The Calgary Herald even one impaired driver is too many.
Ter Kuile said the numbers can spike year to year depending on the location of check stops, or even the weather.
