Enmax warns about power scam

Enmax is warning about a phone scam that may be targeting Southern Alberta homeowners who were impacted by the recent floods.
The caller pretends to have information about a homeowner’s utility account, and then advises that for a one-time fee of $350, the customer can have an energy guard device attached to their home, effectively cutting their bills in half.
The calls originate from Texas, and the person claims to be making the one-time offer as part of a government program to assist flood victims.
Enmax says the government program in question does not exist.
