Sportscon debuts in Calgary at BMO Centre

An exciting weekend for sports fans in Calgary.

The first ever YYC Sportscon debuts at the BMO Centre, featuring exhibitors, speaker sessions and autograph availability with star athletes.

Organizer Anjul Virk says it’s the first sports convention of its kind in Canada.

“This is something we want to grow. We want to take this into Vancouver and Toronto in the future and possibly down south, but it’s an event we want to do annually in Calgary ,” says Virk.

“Being the first one, it’s a little challenging so we just want the support of local folks and then go on to something bigger and better.”

Virk adds he’s hoping to see about 4,000 to 5,000 people attend the event.

YYC Sportscon is on until 8:00p.m. Saturday and again Sunday from 10:30a.m. until 5:00p.m.
