Airdrie mayor seeking second term

Mayor Naheed Nenshi may not be the only local mayor who runs unopposed in the upcoming Municipal election.
Airdrie Mayor Peter Brown has confirmed he’ll be seeking re-election in the fall, but isn’t aware of any competition.
“I know there’s a number of people who have stepped up to run for an Aldermans position but I haven’t heard anything on Mayor and I guess we’ll just play it buy ear and see how it goes in the next few weeks,” says Brown.
Brown says access to 24 hour health care in Airdrie, and progress on the 40th Avenue overpass is among his priorities for the city.
If elected, this would be Brown’s second term as mayor in Airdrie.
