City’s expert flood panel revealed

The city has announced a panel of experts to review its response to the June flood and to look at ways of reducing and managing flood risk in the future.
Led by the former head of Calgary Water Services, the five member panel is comprised of experts experienced in a wide range of relevant fields.
In the coming months they will examine and prioritize environmental, infrastructure and policy measures aimed at mitigating future flood damage in the city.
Wolf Keller says having citizens engaged in the process is key, “we really want to make sure that we can get everybody’s concepts and ideas, you know we’ve had a lot of suggestions. We want to capture all that, make note of it and make sure we follow up and tell people what happened to their situations.”
Public input will be gathered online and through public forums.
The panel expects to report back to the city with a list of recommendations by June of next year.
