Four people killed in three separate crashes in Calgary

The resources of the police department’s traffic unit are being stretched to the limit following a number of deadly crashes.
In less than 24 hours, four people lost their lives on city streets.
Around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, a vehicle with two young men inside crashed into a pole along Elbow Drive at 30th Avenue S.W., killing both.
About an hour before that road tragedy, a vehicle travelling southbound on Deerfoot Trail near McKnight left the road, striking the wire barrier.
The woman behind the wheel was pronounced dead at the scene; it’s believed a medical condition is to blame.
Before the sun set Tuesday night, police were sorting out a multi-vehicle crash on Barlow Trail and Centre Avenue North.
It appears a driver who went through a red light is to blame; that driver in hospital listed in serious but stable condition.
Tuesday afternoon, a man in his 40’s was killed when the motorbike he was on collided with a delivery truck in the Foothills Industrial Park in the southeast.
No word yet when the traffic unit will update the various investigations.
