Alberta small business confidence takes step forward

Small business confidence in the province is up.

Alberta Director of the Canadian Federation of Independent Business, Richard Truscott, tells 660News, the barometer took a big step forward in August when compared to July.

“We’re very encouraged in fact to see a three point bounce in the confidence levels in Alberta among small business owners,” he says. “When they think about the future of the economy and the performance of their business, that’s certainly good news.”

However, the shortage of qualified labour remains an issue for small business owners.

Truscott says, nearly 40 per cent of businesses say it’s limiting their ability to grow sales or production.
