A Liberal MLA is calling the premier’s plan to march in Sunday’s Pride Parade “half-hearted.”
Kent Hehr says he’s happy about Alison Redford’s decision, but wants her to tackle legislation he says discriminates against the LGBT community.
Hehr points to a decision in 2012, which saw the government remove a section of the education act that required schools to use materials that “honour and respect the Canadian carter of rights and freedoms and the Alberta human rights act.”
According to The Calgary Herald, Premier Alison Redford will be the first-ever sitting leader of the province to attend the Calgary Pride Parade.
