Summer is winding down and so is the chance to take a final vacation with the family before the kids go back to school, but Brian Simpson from Travelocity tells 660News, there are quite a few options for Calgarians who want to spend four or five days away this long weekend.
Simpson says, our provincial capital, Edmonton, is an excellent destination.
“It’s more than just the West Edmonton Mall as people just seem to think of Edmonton as, you know there’s so many great things to do. You can sort of step back in time at Fort Edmonton Park and you can take in the Conservatory,” says Simpson.
The Okanagan is also a great option with various Okanagan wine festivals running throughout the year.
A new report from Travelocity says almost half of Canadians still want to take a summer vacation but 32 percent haven’t even started planning.
