Automated parkade gets green light

An automated parkade in the core has been given the ok by city council.

Council voted 10-5 Monday to put in a 388 car stall on 7th Avenue between Centre and 1st Street S.W.

Unlike a typical parkade, this one would see motorists enter a bay, exit their vehicle, and then watch their car lifted to a designated spot.

There are still some concerns about access to the space during rush hour, as motorists may have trouble getting out of the alleyway.

Other obstacles may be dumpsters and delivery trucks in the area.
