CBE re-examining expense policy

The Calgary Board of Education is promising a review of their expense policy after recent documents raised some eyebrows.

Superintendent Naomi Johnson is defending a pricey $1500 dinner that was charged to taxpayers.

Johnson says the March 8th meal was rare for the school board and was to recognize a retiring member of their staff.

Johnson explains trustees took a pay cut, and are now required to provide receipts for all their expenses, and pay for their own parking.

All expenses can now be found on the CBE’s website.
