How do your city councillors vote?

Just days before municipal election nomination day, local think tank, The Manning Foundation, has released a 41 page report that tracks voting patterns for the current Calgary city council.

One of the items, the taxpayer friendly score. It measures whether a council member always votes to hold the line or reduce spending. It was won by Alderman Andre Chabot, with 75 points, while Druh Farrel had just 16.  Mayor Naheed Nenshi was in the top 5 at 50.

Jeromy Farkas, who compiled the data for the foundation, tells 660News how much council business is done in-camera.

“There was 19-per cent of the their business conducted in secret. It’s an interesting figure to know,” says Farkas.

The entire report can be found here.
