Wildrose critcizes Edmonton forum

The Wildrose Party is hammering the Tories for asking the Edmonton mayoral candidates to appear at a $150 ticket party fundraiser.

The top three contenders for the Mayor’s chair were expected to debate each other with Municipal Affairs minister Doug Griffiths and MLA Steve Young as the moderators.

The candidates have since pulled out, and Wildrose leader Danielle Smith says the conservatives are simply trying to get its claws into Edmonton city council.

One candidate tweeted he would not be attending as he was unaware that the event was a fundraiser for the conservatives.
