The man who was recently appointed the Calgary Flames new President of Hockey Operations agrees with those who suggest fans of the team need to be patient during the rebuild.
Monday morning, while appearing on Breakfast Television on City, Brian Burke stated the club is in a good position to add both players and payroll.
He adds this year’s training camp has been very productive, “I’m happy with the transformation that’s taken place. I’m happy with the buy-in. It’s as intense a training camp as I’ve seen in my 20 plus years doing this, yes. Are we were we want to be from a talent perspective and will we be able to achieve what we want? We probably have some more work to do.”
Burke also sang the praises of the team’s latest acquisition, 23 year old centre, Joe Colborne, who was acquired in a trade with the Toronto Maple Leafs on the weekend.
