MRI waits in AB too long: poll

Albertans believe they are waiting too long for an MRI.

A new poll says the majority of people in the province do not agree with patients getting faster access to the scans by shelling out cash.

However, they also worry getting rid of private clinics will make drawn out wait times even longer.

The Calgary Herald reports, non-urgent patients wait an average of 20 weeks for an MRI in the province.

71 per cent of Albertans believe four weeks or less would be more reasonable.
