A series of gutsy break and enters in Acadia have Police asking Calgarians to keep their doors and windows locked, even when they are at home.
Officers are especially concerned after one home was entered from a second floor balcony.
All of the robberies took place within a couple of blocks near Bonaventure Drive and Heritage Drive S.E.
The thief made off with jewellery, cash and credit cards, in one case taking a wallet from a pair of trousers.
Sgt. Dale Flemming says in all three cases, the culprit entered through a patio door.
“Just because you live on ground level doesn’t mean you’re immune from these because we know people who are determined can sometimes use a ladder,” he says. “Sometimes the premises are easily available to be climbed because of the design of the structure.”
The suspect is described as a white, male, 5’9, 18-22 years old, with a medium build, and was wearing dark clothing.
Anyone who witnesses suspicious activity is asked to report it to police.
