Another freeman on the land is causing a stir south of Calgary.
The Calgary Sun reports, 40-year-old Darren Clifford is scheduled to appear in court today for a bail hearing, after he was picked up on outstanding warrants.
Clifford is accused of assaulting an RCMP officer in Turner Valley in 2011.
The Millarville native failed to show up for his fingerprinting and was later picked up by police in June of 2012, and slapped with more charges.
Clifford claims to be part of the same movement that led another man in Calgary to overtake a woman’s home and call it his “embassy.”
