Rogers customers are experiencing a wireless service outage across the country.
The telecom giant, which owns 660News, says the outage is affecting voice calls and some texting but data services do not seem to be affected.
It’s affecting customers in multiple provinces, including Alberta, British Columbia, as well as out east in Ontario, Quebec and Newfoundland.
The official Rogers website is also down.
The company says it is working to resolve the problem and cannot give an estimate as to when full service will be restored.
Thousands have taken to social media to express frustration at the outage.
The City of Calgary has issued a news release, reminding people if they need to reach emergency services, to use another phone with a different carrier, a land line or a neighbour’s phone.
You can also access many non emergency city services through their website www.calgary.ca.
The city says it’s in communication with Rogers and is getting updates on the status of restoring service to affected customers.
