House prices going up in Calgary

A shortage of inventory is driving up house prices in the city.

A new report from Royal-LePage says competition for all types of homes in the city have produced strong year over year price increases.

Average home prices were particularly buoyant in the third quarter with the value of a detached bungalow increasing by just over 7 per cent; now averaging just over $465,000.

Condominium prices rose by almost 6 percent, to $263,000.

Ted Zaharko with Royal LePage Foothills uses the word “robust” to described the local real estate market.
