Calgarians back southwest ring road

Two-thirds of Calgarians want the southwest ring road deal with the Tsuu T’ina Nation to go through.

A Leger survey for The Calgary Herald, finds 61 per cent of people in the city support the idea of building the roadway through the First Nation territory.

Members of the band will vote next week on the proposal.

The survey also finds Calgarians are divided on what LRT line should be constructed next.

Thirty-four per cent want a southeast line, while another quarter want a north-central line running from downtown to Harvest Hills.
