Man charged with sexual assault in NE attack

A 23-year-old Calgary man is facing charges in connection with a recent sexual assault.

On Sunday, October 20th, a teenager claimed she was assaulted by a man in the 2500 block of 36th Street Northeast.

Investigators sent out requests for information on the alleged assault, and as a result of tips from the public, an arrest was made Tuesday.

Jose Sandoval Barillas is charged with one count of sexual assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon.
