The head of Calgary’s expert panel on flood mitigation says the group is making some headway on recommendations.
Wolf Keller gave his first progress update Friday since the panel first convened in early September.
He says most of the progress has been in the areas of water storage, diversion, and protection.
“There’s been a lot of discussion on way of increasing the capacity of the Glenmore Reservoir and any resulting benefits. By leveraging some existing studies on the reservoir, the panel will be looking at the options, costs and benefits of increasing the reservoir. We hope to have the results by the end of this year,” explains Keller.
The panel has identified six theme areas to explore, and they’re seeking input from the public.
