Harper addresses Conservative Party convention

There were kudos for Calgary, his hopes for the economy and his plans for the future.

Nothing was off-limits for the Prime Minister Harper Friday evening in his keynote address to the party faithful at the Conservative Party convention downtown at the BMO Centre at Stampede Park.

There were also shots taken at both the Liberal and New Democratic Leaders.

Harper told the party faithful, forget about Europe, the New Democrats can’t even figure out if they support free trade with the U.S.

“And I have to say it, you know the only trade policy Justin Trudeau’s been working on is the marijuana trade” says Harper.

Much of the forty minutes was spent outlining the choice Canadians will have in 2015; a vote for the Conservatives who will quote, stand for jobs and the economy or the other guy.

A handful of Alberta MPs were the last to leave the room and Edmonton’s Laurie Hawn says Stephen Harper did what he needed to do.

“You know when it comes election time, you know you need to remind people of the whole picture, not just what the latest thing of today is,” says Hawn.
