Anti-Harper Protests in Calgary during Conservative convention

The Conservative Convention is in Calgary but not everyone is happy with Mr. Harper.

Several protests are planned for the weekend.

An early morning meeting between ministers and protesters started the sentiments.

The group rallied outside as the convention events for the day began.

They questioned Conservatives on the amount of frivolous spending.

Brigette DePape is a part of the protest; she says the Prime Minister is out of line when it comes to overspending on luxuries like limousines.

“Harper claims to be this great manager for the economy, but we see how that is really a myth, in fact, youth unemployment is at all time high” says DePape.

She says the Harper Government has spent more than $600,000 just on overtime for limo drivers in one year.

She’s upset Harper is spending cash on the “1-per cent” instead of things like health care and education.
