Passenger dies in serious Spruce Meadows Trail crash

A young man has died after a serious crash Thursday along Spruce Meadows Trail SW.
According to investigators, it happened around 5:30 p.m. when the Dodge Avenger he was travelling in rolled through a stop sign and crossed the path of a 2003 Ford Cutaway van.
The 54 year-old driver of the van, who was heading eastbound, was treated for minor injuries.
The two 19 year-olds inside the car were rushed to hospital in critical condition.
The passenger was pronounced dead late Sunday evening while the driver remains in hospital.
Alcohol isn’t believed to have been a factor.
