Calgarians can get a look at plans to redevelop Stanley Park on Saturday.
It’s the city’s third and final phase of public engagement.
Keath Parker with Parks Planning and Development Services said with Calgary’s growing population contributing to a rise in visitors to the greenspace, it’s time for an upgrade.
“Increasing the carrying capacity, protecting and enhancing the Elbow River, trying to formalize family oriented play in a natural park setting, promoting healthy and active living and improving pedestrian and bike connections in the park are all part of the vision,” Parker said.
The last time a master plan was developed for the Stanley Park was back in 1986.
Finalized plans including, expanding the picnic and playgrounds area are available for public viewing this afternoon from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Parkhill/Stanley Park Community Hall.
