The Canadian Avalanche Centre is giving snowmobilers a crash course in avalanche training.
A series of eight videos set in the beautiful mountain scenery of Revelstoke, B.C. urges mountain sledders to better educate themselves in avalanche safety.
Gilles Valade, Executive Director of CAC, said its part of a safety initiative that has been going on for a number of years.
“This video series really highlights actually the strength of the sledding community and the expertise that they’ve developed and it’s to encourage basically all the sledders that haven’t taken the avalanche safety course to go out there and get a safety course,” said Valade.
He said snowmobiling safety has improved tremendously in the last couple of years — and they want that trend to continue.
