Couple from Stand Off charged with neglect

A couple from Stand Off are facing charges of neglect following a four-month investigation in the town 195 km south of Calgary.
Over the past summer, the 9 year old-child was taken to Alberta Children’s Hospital in critical condition; requiring several surgeries and intensive care over an extended period.
After allegations surfaced indicating the child’s condition was a result of neglect, the Blood Tribe Police Service launched an investigation resulting in the charges.
The identities of the accused are not being released to protect the identity of the victim.
Meantime, the victim and two other children who lived in the home, have been removed from the residence and are currently in foster care.
