Calgarians are giving their take on the layoffs and service changes at Canada Post.
Many residents in the southeast community of Dover are speaking out, including senior Judy who said she’s disappointed.
“I don’t feel like walking or grabbing a bus and going all the way to wherever they want you to go,” she said, while Philip said it’s an inconvenience for his household.
“Everybody has to go to their mailbox and I guess if it’s going to come, it’s going to come,” he said.
Residents add the price of stamps rising is also upsetting, but they would rather that than the cuts to service.
Mail service won’t end completely with the boxes installed, but Marlene said she won’t be happy when they discontinue delivery to her house.
“I think it’s absolutely ridiculous, it’s something I look forward to, going out and getting my mail in the morning, I don’t want to have to go to a central drop-box,” she said.
