Exam stress before Christmas break for post secondary students

It’s a stressful time of the year not only because of Christmas shopping, but also because students are writing their finals.

Exams at the University of Calgary are in full swing, and continue until Thursday.

Student Union leader Emily Macphail, who is in her 5th year of post-secondary, is encouraging students to be healthy.

‘It’s really easy to get caught up in studying and maybe thinking I have to pull an all-nighter and all of that but it’s so important students take the time to get some sleep have the proper nutrition, make sure they are taking some study breaks make sure they are really taking care of themselves,” Macphail said.

Macphail says the U of C tried something new this year to help students. The university paid for an initiative called “exam jam,” which offered students free study tips and de-stress advice over the first few days of finals.
