Small fire sends hotel guests scurrying

Several guests of a northeast hotel were forced from their rooms Saturday morning after a small fire.

The Calgary Fire Department was called to the 2000 block of Sunridge way to deal with the situation, but before they arrived the hotel’s sprinkler system had doused the blaze.

Battalion Chief Allan Ball tells 660News the fire started in a storage room.

He says there is some damage left behind from the flames, and the water from the sprinkler system.

Ball says there were no injuries and everyone was allowed back into the hotel shortly after their arrival.

An investigator has been called in to find the cause of the fire.
